Splinter Cell: Conviction has been getting a free item each week, but now Ubisoft is ready to release some premium content for Deniable Ops with the Insurgency Pack, four new maps featuring the docks of San Francisco, a New Orleans cemetery, a prison in Portland, and a hidden research complex in Salt Lake City.
The Pack will arrive May 27, and will also add 250 achievement points to obtain. Look out for it next week!
A little less than a month ago, Conviction was released. After my review of the game, I went back and worked on completing all the achievements and early this morning was able to achieve 1000G in the game. It's a pretty cool feeling to not only complete the campaign of a game, but to also collect all the goals the developers have set in front of you. I would say the easiest achievements were completing each mission from single player and collecting the weapons, while the hardest definitely were the P.E.C challenges, Co-op modes, and conquering Realistic Difficulty. Overall Splinter Cell has a great list of doable achievements, but some were a definite pain to get.
My goal for 1000/1000 next is Halo 3:ODST as I have 46/47 of the achievements, but the last one is Endure. Any games you have 1000G in? Feel free to explain them in the comments section below!

The 3E Elite costume for Splinter Cell Conviction is now available for free in the extras menu for the game. Description Below:
"Third Echelon's Elite Special Ops Suit. Used by Third Echelon elite field operatives for both covert and assault operations."
Sorry for the quality. I will get a better picture when I can.
It's time for another increase that gamerscore (ITG for short!) This one is for Ubisoft's Stealth Action game, Splinter Cell Conviction. With the exception of one achievement, quality time which requires an Xbox LIVE connection, all the achievements can be obtained in split screen co-op besides the designated campaign ones. The achievements I want to focus on today are the P.E.C Challenges and the Weapon Collecting Achievements.
P.E.C Achievements:
These are objectives that focus on some of the new elements in Conviction. They can be obtained in Single-player, Co-op story, and the various co-op modes. A lot of these challenges involve using gadgets on people, usually three at a time, and there are a few great spots to complete them where multiple enemies are present. The great thing about P.E.C challenges are that once obtained, you can simply restart a checkpoint and still have your progress complete on these challenges. So find a good spot with three or four guys and go down the list of challenges that require completing goals on multiple enemies.
Completing the P.E.C Challenges will give you these achivements:
Preparation Master-Complete all prepare & execute challenges. 30 G
Stealth Master-Complete all vanish challenges. 30 G
Best Of The Best-Complete all Splinter Cell challenges. 30 G
Well-Rounded-Complete all challenges. 50 G
Tips on Weapon Collecting:
These achievements focus on collecting all the weapons, as well as their upgrades. To collect the weapons, all you have to do is complete the single player game, and the first two missions in the co-op mode. You will automatically collect each gun even if you don't use it on a level. The hard part is upgrading them. You will have to do most of the P.E.C challenges since they give you points to spend on upgrades, so save up your points until you collect all the weapons, and upgrade away.
Collecting and upgrading weapons will give you these achievements below:
Weapon Upgraded-Purchase all 3 upgrades for any 1 weapon. 10 G
Weapon's Expert: Purchase all 3 upgrades for all weapons. 20 G
Weapons Collector- Unlock all weapons in the weapon vault. 20 G
Have fun Increasing that Gamerscore!
Look out for more tips soon!

Splinter Cell Conviction has been in development for quite some time as we all know, and the game has gone through some major changes from it's story, character design, and traditional stealth game-play. It's finally here and I believe it is the best game in the franchise as it keeps a great balance between the stealth and action and includes some great co-op features that will keep you busy for quite some time. Fisher is back, and this time things get personal.
Being the star of 4 previous games, details on Sam Fisher were actually pretty bare bones: He's a middle aged man that worked for Third Echelon, served in the army, and has a daughter who was killed in Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Sarah Fisher's death is the thing that fuels the plot-line in Conviction for Fisher, and he gets word that her death may not have been an accident. He decides to track down this information and ends up tied in a government conspiracy with Third Echelon being into the mix once again. To find the truth, Fisher must help the agency he left in order to stop a threat to the country, and finally get some real answers about his daughter.
Gadgets have always been a key component to Splinter Cell games, and their role gets even bigger in Conviction. The Signature Night-Vision goggles that Fisher has always used are gone and get replaced by Sonar goggles that can see enemies thorough walls, and give you a great edge to get the preemptive drop on enemies around the corner. The weapons of the series do appear and are all upgradeable. The great thing about the gadgets as well is that they can be used in the single-player and co-op game modes, so you could upgrade a gun in co-op, and use the same gun as Sam Fisher. Your main tools return like the camera and frag grenades, but emp grenades, flash bangs, and portable emp devices all bring new welcome additions to Conviction. Emp devices play a big role in Conviction, and Sam gets to use them throughout the game and at the right times they can prove to be just as useful as guns.
The game-play is a little different from how we used to play Splinter Cell as well. Usually we would keep our N.V goggles on the entire time and slowly make our way through the missions while shooting all the lights out and completing our objectives. For Conviction stealth is still key, but taking down enemies swiftly and pushing forward in the level is the main focus of how the game plays. The big feature to taking out enemies though is Mark & Execute, a way to instantly kill enemies with a few presses on the controller. Once your weapons become upgraded, up to 4 enemies can be taken out by Sam and the maneuver is similar to Fallout 3's V.A.T.S. system as the maneuver never gets old. You can't play the game and instantly execute everyone as the move must first be unlocked by stealthily taking down an opponent, but stealth take downs are not too difficult so you could use Mark & Execute a few times in each mission to give you a nice edge since Fisher is always outnumbered. All objectives for Conviction are displayed like projections, so If you look at a wall, your goal will displayed on the side. It's really cool and simple way to remember what you're supposed to do, and I wouldn't be surprised if other games try this feature.
Sadly there is now Spy Versus Mercenaries mode in Conviction, but Co-op play is back and better than ever. The Featured modes for offline and online play include a story mode for two players taking place right before Fisher's story and feature American Spy Archer, and Russian Agent Kestrel in a plot that relates to what Fisher will come across. Mark & Execute plays a big role in Co-op as well, and players can coordinate when to perform the move to quickly take down a great number of enemies. besides the co-op campaign, there is Hunter and Infiltration (With Infiltration being Unlocked Via Uplay) that have you taking down a set number of enemies in a level (Infiltration has you to doing it without being seen). Then there is Last Stand mode, which is similar to Firefight and Horde mode, only you have to defend an object while taking on set waves of enemies. The Last mode you can play is Face-Off, a mode where you must take out the other player controlled spy, while avoiding enemy A.I who will take you both out. This is a big chunk of Conviction replay value, and is a great mode to play whether you have Xbox LIVE or not.
Uplay is back for Conviction and like with Assassin's Creed II, you can unlock extra goodies for use in the game. If you don't know how Uplay works, it is a system that gives you points to spend on Rewards for Ubisoft games and these points are given by completing in game achievements. The rewards vary from new weapons, themes for your dashboard, and even new modes like Infiltration. Besides all these goodies, Ubisoft is also promising on delivering new free content for Conviction Every Thursday.
Overall this a must-play for Action/ Stealth fans and a game that was worth the wait, and what a wait that was!

+ Great Single Player Story that focuses more on Sam Fisher than ever before
+ Awesome Co-op Modes for Online and Offline Play
+Mark & Execute game-play never gets old
-Short Campaign
How Does it Play?
Much more refined from previous Splinter Cells. Even though Fisher is much older, he can still pull off some great moves with your help of course.
How Long Does it Last?
Singleplayer took me around 5 hours, but Multiplayer Co-op can provide many hours of fun. Possible DLC could this even further as well.
Is it a Buy or Rent?
Even though the Campaign is short, I would say Buy for the great Co-op and weekly content coming our way.

This week I will be doing some more online gaming with Splinter Cell Conviction (Finally!), Halo 3: ODST and Modern Warfare 2. I got ODST once again to get ready for the Reach Beta and try my best to make some cool forge levels on Sandbox. Deniable Ops is pretty fun Splinter Cell, and I'm gonna try the Co-op out with a friend and see how it compares to the co-op from past Splinter Cell games. Last but not least is ranking up a little bit more in Modern Warfare 2.
I Hope everyone has a great weekend of fun and relaxing gaming!!
I wanted to write this on Tuesday, but thanks to the freezing issues, I wasn't able to play that much. Now that I have spent a few hours with the game, I can safely say that Splinter Cell Conviction has been worth the wait so far.
I honestly haven't played that much of the singleplayer campaign, but the Deniable Ops Mode is a ton of fun. With or Without a friend, you can test your stealth skills in the various game modes that Conviction offers. The big gameplay element which is the Mark & Execute feature, really feels sweet when you use it, and it kinda reminds me of using V.A.T.S in Fallout 3.
I've read that the campaign isn't that long, so I'm hoping to write a review pretty soon for the game, so look out for that later.
Arriving to gamers at midnight, Splinter Cell Conviction will finally be released. The changes to the game over the past years were made by Ubisoft to ensure that fans would experience Sam's story in a way that felt familiar, yet new and exciting. The classic Spy vs. Mercs Multiplayer mode won't be in the package, but Multiplayer on the form of co-op promises to be just as fun and re-playable. The short but sweet demo released a few weeks back gave us a small taste of what to expect, and after playing that a few times, I became really excited for the game. Look out for my 1st Impressions of the full game tomorrow, and a review a little bit later since I'm still trying to finish Final Fantasy XIII. It's a great time to be a gamer, and for Splinter Cell fans, Sam Fisher is Finally Back!
This week I will be doing some online gaming with Perfect Dark and Modern Warfare 2. The online Co-op on Perfect Dark is still a blast after all these years, and Xbox Live play really make this an even better experience.
Even after all these months have passed, I still have a great time with Modern Warfare 2. Even with all the exploits players have been using, most of the time I can play fun and balanced matches. The question of whether the new maps will be worth 1200 MSP or not is still up in the air, I believe they will be a nice addition.
I also plan to play through the Splinter Cell Conviction Demo a few more times. The action so far is a nice improvement over the classic "hide in the shadows" gameplay, and I can't wait to see how the co-op turns out.
I Hope everyone has a great weekend of fun and relaxing gaming!!
