Clementine Remains

Telltale games reinvigorated the adventure genre quite a bit last year when it delivered one of the best gaming experiences of 2012 with the first Season of the The Walking dead game, and now they're back this year with the start of Season Two. After many heartbreaking moments that comprised the five episodes of Season One and the brief yet enjoyable 400 Days, it's now time for Clementine to move forward as she further adapts into the Zombie Apocalypse while brushing up against new characters that may or may not be on her side.

In terms of how the game plays, it's an almost exact version of Season One, although the action sequences have been a bit more improved as they were shown in Episode One of The Wolf Among Us. There will be times where you'll need to rapidly hit specific buttons and others where the press of the analog stick will be required to dodge and attack walkers, as well as other intense events that pop up.

What's always been enjoyable and the center piece for The Walking Dead game is the dialogue choices and character development, and Season Two looks to follow this great path. With an older yet still adjusting Clementine as the main character, we're able to see how much she has grown during her time with Lee as she pushes forward in this terrible world.

All that Remains does a great job of setting up the next episode and getting players back into the action of this Adventure series, and I can't wait to play more as the new episodes become available.

If you've played the first Season, you know that things don't end well for people in this world, but the remaining survivors have to keep going, which Clementine has done alongside some familiar faces. Most of this episode takes place in the countryside, with interesting encounters that occur in the woods and surrounding area, and all of looks very nice and detailed. I'm not sure if Telltale is using the same engine or not to develop this, but it looks better than Season One in my opinion.

These intense moments in the woods make up most Episode One's adventure, which lasts for about 2 hours, although it's worth playing through once again to see how things would play out differently depending on your choices that you make.

The popular feature of checking out how your choices compared to the rest of the players is back as well, so you'll be able to see how other gamers decided on situations in comparison to your own.

Presentation-wise, Season Two looks and plays great, although there were still moments with occasional slow-down at least on Xbox 360. This issue isn't enough to take away from the overall enjoyment, but they can be a bit distracting at certain moments when you're really into what's happening in a cutscene or sequence.

Overall, All that Remains kicks Season Two of the Walking Dead game off to a good start, and having Clementine as the main controllable character offers up a stark contrast to Season One and I can't wait to see how things will play out over the next four episodes as they become available next year.

+ Episode pace and intense moments
+ Ability to utilize saves from the first Season
+ Great set up to Clementine's new story

- Occasional Frame-rate issues
