Minecraft: Story Mode will be the next new title from Telltale games as a collaboration project with Mojang, creators of the massive block phenomenon. Not much is known just yet, but when the title does release next year, it will be available on multiple consoles and devices, despite Microsoft now owning the Minecraft property.

From Telltale:

"Set in the world of Minecraft, the series will feature an original story, driven by player choice. It will not be an add-on for Minecraft, but rather a separate stand-alone product that will premiere in 2015 on consoles, computers and mobile devices.

Telltale's game series will mix new characters with familiar themes, in an entirely original Minecraft experience, inspired by the Minecraft community and the game that continues to inspire a generation.

For more information on why Telltale and Mojang chose to work together, visit Mojang's blog.
"

Telltale's team will be fairly busy with Game of Thrones, Tales from the Borderlands, and now Minecraft, so I hope the quality of their titles while stay high as their quantity increases.

An Uncertain Future

The second season finale of the Walking Dead game closes the door on many of the conflicts that were built up throughout the season, and even creates a few new ones that I hope to see addressed in a third season. The roughly two-hour episode features some very intense moments, and really forces you to choose between your past and present allies in a dramatic way.

It's a very satisfying finale that will definitely tug at your emotions as it really puts you into the shoes of Clementine like no past episode has done.

No Going Back wastes no time picking up where Amid the Ruins left off. With chaos ensuing from the gunshots, you're find yourself caught in the middle as you try to survive. Even though the episode starts off this way, it's nothing in comparison to the events that will occur later in the episode.

Loss is a major theme throughout the series, and is something that you'll have to deal with a few times in the finale. Despite everything that Clementine has been through, the events that occur in No Going Back really hit her hard and are just as impacting as losing Lee at the end of the first season.

This finale really drives the fact home that no is safe in this world, and that humans are far more dangerous than the shambling undead.

Near the end of the finale, you're forced to make some fairly tough decisions that will surely impact how things will move in the future. What's crazy about them is that there's really no time to put major thought into each one as they appear quickly.

It's one of the elements that I really enjoy about the series, but I do sometimes wish I had more time to react to some of these choices.

Overall, No Going Back is a fantastic conclusion to the second season that encompasses everything from the past season that has made this such an engaging series to experience. This is videogame storytelling at its best.

+ Engaging conclusion to the second season
+ Impacting choices to make from start to finish

Life among the Dead

After escaping Carver's settlement, Clementine and the remaining few from the group head out towards an abandoned museum in order to plan their next move. The majority of this episode focuses on the aftermath of episode three, and dealing with the impending birth of Rebecca's child. It's full of intense conversational moments, and features some tough choices to make as you're guided towards the season finale.

Amid the Ruins makes for a great penultimate episode of the Walking Dead that focuses on the topic of characters beginning to lose hope.

With Kenny losing another loved one to the harsh world full of the undead, the rest of the group must act quickly to prepare for Rebecca's baby. Kenny's past experience of being a father is something that they know can help them out, but they fear that he isn't in any condition to be an effective, which based on what you choose to say will either support or challenge this suggestion.

The pacing of this episode is something that I was really impressed with. It constantly shifts between calm and frantic at a moment's notice, and as with most of Telltale's work it keeps you engaged until the end.

Most of Amid the Ruins takes place around the museum, but there are a few other locations that you'll get to check out throughout the episode. There's the trailer park where you'll get some tips on taking down walkers by Jane and the top of a museum platform that the group decides to use for shelter and a place where Rebecca could have her baby.

No matter the location, everything looks nice and detailed as the surrounding area becomes colder as winter approaches the survivors.

Even as this second season of the Walking Dead game is preparing to wrap up, there are a few new characters that appear to interact with. Among the new ones is a young man named Arvo, whose initial interaction will shape how things may play out in the beginning of the season finale.

As with most of the situations in the Walking Dead game, new people present a choice for the player: approach with caution or with deadly force, with Arvo, the decision may not be so easy.

Overall, Amid the Ruins contains tough situations for the player to deal with as they climb toward the finale of the second season. Clementine's struggles are far from over, and the decisions you make as her will impact for than just her life.

+ Great pacing and intense character choices to make

Blowing the House Down

Episode Five of the Wolf Among Us wraps up Bigby's tale in a very satisfying fashion. The choices you'll be able to make are weighted with strong impacting results, and the pace is thrilling throughout the entire finale. Your choices throughout the season come into play in a important way, and this factor truly shows that what you choose to say and how you approach specific situations will be remembered and brought up in surprising ways.

I already miss the world of Fabletown, and can only hope that our chance to go back happens sooner rather than later.

All of the issues that I had with Episode 4 are completely gone in this episode. The pace is intense, and never slows down. All of the pieces have fallen into place here, so the action sequences that appear are not just there for the sake of action, but as concluding clashes between the tension that Bigby had toward certain characters. Nothing is held back in this finale, making for a thrilling 1+ hour adventure.

Any questions that you may have had regarding certain elements of the story are sure to have been answered in the finale, or at least it was to me. From episode one to now, the main investigation regarding the deaths of a few female fables is resolved, although the answers sometimes lead to a few more questions.

Blood Mary was a foe to Bigby that showed that even the Big Bad Wolf can have a true rival, just as the woodsman used to be. Their battle in the finale is one of the most exciting parts and it does not disappoint. It was probably my second favorite moment in the episode.

There's also a pretty cool chase scene near the beginning, and I'm ready to go through it again to see how things may change based on how I approach it.

You'll pretty much have to pay attention to the entire episode, as choices and quick-time events appear frequently, so there's none of the slowing down and investigating sections that were featured in the earlier episodes.

If there was ever an episode to replay, it would probably be this finale of the Wolf Among Us. There were quite a few times where I just wanted to rewind time to see how something else would play out, more than I have ever wanted to in past episodes. Another neat element about the end of the episode is not only the usual worldwide comparison of what other players chose to do in certain situations, but also some extra facts about the characters and choices which is pretty neat.

I'm a little sad that this season is over since I'm not sure that there will be another, but I'm staying hopeful. While it's true that the Fables graphic novels are amazing reads, I would prefer to interact with those stories in the form of an interactive adventure, and something that Telltale has done so well since the beginnings of their company.

The Wolf Among Us is an amazing title, and one that will hopefully influence other genre's in terms of its mood, tone, and player immersion into an amazing five-episode story.

+ Very satisfying finale to another great Telltale series
+ Impacting choices that may shape Bigby's future in Fabletown

- Wish it was a bit longer!

The season finale of the Wolf Among Us is set to arrive next week, Telltale games have announced. Titled 'Cry Wolf', the episode will delve further into the confrontation with the Crooked Man among other important issues that are still unresolved in Fabletown.

July 8th will mark its release for PC and PlayStation 3, followed by the Xbox 360 version on the 9th and for iOS on the 10th. Regardless of platform, the finale episode will cost $5.

I'm pretty excited for this and hope that the episode will offer a thrilling conclusion to the season when it arrives in a few days!

Crooked Revelations

Despite being the penultimate episode for The Wolf Among Us, In Sheep's Clothing slows the story and pace down significantly. It's still worth playing and gives you some more detail regarding the mysterious Crooked Man, but lacks that special feeling the has been apart of the episodes so far. Towards the end, everything picks up, but for the most part, it's a slow journey to pick up the pieces as Bigby recovers from his encounter with Bloody Mary as he begins the path to understanding the Crooked man.

After such an intense third episode, you almost have to ask for a breather, but this third episode slows down the intensity that normally only gets higher for Telltale's style of games. It's pretty much my only complaint for In Sheep's Clothing, but is something that stuck out as I played through the episode. If you think of it as a TV show episode of your favorite show, it's essentially a mid-season premiere: You're glad it's back, but don't expect too much to happen.

Despite the pace, a good amount of new information is discovered regarding the Crooked Man in this episode, putting all the required pieces together to what should hopefully be a spectacular final episode when The Wolf Among Us does return in the coming months.

There are a few dialogue options that occur throughout the episode that help show how Bigby has grown as a person, which helps improve his relationship with Snow White by respecting her rules, or challenging them if you choose to do things your way. One of the main topics is enforcing the glamour rule among Bigby's closest friends, which I chose to help out since you do develop a neat bond with characters despite not having too much to interact with them.

In Sheep's Clothing makes it clear that the Crooked Man and Bloody Mary are Bigby's main focus, while Snow White's goals are to restore order in Fabletown as peacefully as possible. This is probably its strongest aspect, and one that will keep you focused despite the speed change of the story.

In Sheep's Clothing also offers some better explanation on certain character's motivations and problems, but only enough to grasp an understanding right before the focus shifts to a new problem to deal with. There's so much going on in the world, but I wish there was more time in the episode to delve into, but it still does enough with everything that it does offer.

While I think this is the weakest episode in the series so far, it's still incredible when compared to the storytelling of other titles. This episode didn't blow me away, but it does enough to set-up the finale which will hopefully ramp up the intensity a bit more.

+ Investigating the actions of the Crooked Man
+ New locations to explore with a few new characters
- Slower pace than the previous three episodes
