The Fall update for the Xbox 360 is here and the big feature this time is the conversion of Marketplace items into your local currency. Microsoft will be phasing out Microsoft Points in the near future, but any point cards bought in the meantime will now convert into money for your profile.
If you buy points at a store now and add them to your account, they will be automatically converted for you. After MS Points are gone, you'll still be able to buy cards for the Marketplace in stores, and that money will be added to your account. This way you won't have to add a credit or debit card to your profile if you don't want to.
Customers have asked about this feature for a while, as there was always a bit of confusion with Microsoft Points, so hopefully that will no longer be the case with this update, which will also be applied when the Xbox One launches in November.
