It's a safe bet that when you get home from purchasing a new game, you quickly dispose of the plastic and stickers that surround the case, open your game, and then proceed to play. OK you may glance at the instruction manual once or twice while you let your install to the hard drive (me too!), but usually the manual stays put in it's holder. Ubisoft has decided to get rid of the manual altogether for their future titles and believes this will greatly reduce the number of trees needed to make the manuals, and save them some money.

It makes sense to some degree and I'm sure the manual could be made for reading as a PDF file like the Games on Demand users can view. With Ubisoft starting this move, I wonder if any other companies will follow.
