This past weekend I found out about FakeFactory's cinematic mod for HL2, episode 1, and episode 2. After downloading and installing I realized it took up a total of 20 gigabytes of hard drive space. This may turn some people off, but its well worth it...
The mod updates the graphics for the Half life 2 series to next-gen high-def graphics. All the textures from the walls to grass to models are updated to hi-rez graphics. For example, the Alyx model made by valve had 7900 polygons, while the new model has 39000 polygons.
FakeFactory's cinematic mod is well worth a good look. It makes the game feel fresh and new again with hi-def graphics. Best of all its free to try out. check it out at the link below.
