The eight year wait for the revamped fan-made Half-Life campaign is just around the corner, as the Black Mesa modification team has announced that on September 14th, the long awaited mod will be available as a free download.
Aside from download from their website, the team has added Black Mesa Source to Steam Greenlight in the hopes that users choose to vote the mod up and make it available to download directly from Steam. They'll be getting my vote for sure!
"Freeman" June 14th. If you look closely, you can see the Gman. E3 is gonna be sweet!

The mod updates the graphics for the Half life 2 series to next-gen high-def graphics. All the textures from the walls to grass to models are updated to hi-rez graphics. For example, the Alyx model made by valve had 7900 polygons, while the new model has 39000 polygons.
FakeFactory's cinematic mod is well worth a good look. It makes the game feel fresh and new again with hi-def graphics. Best of all its free to try out. check it out at the link below.
