The Summer of Arcade has its final release today with TMNT: Out of the Shadows. This new Ninja turtles game looks to contain some great co-op play, along with a fighting system that looks to play as well as the recent Batman Arkham titles. Early previews about this game have been fairly positive, so be sure to give it a try.
These Summer arcade releases always offer a great way to get new experiences before the barrage of fall games, and this year's Summer of Arcade has done that again. Goodbye until next year SOA!

The Summer of Arcade releases continue today with the classic Flashback making a return. Developed by VectorCell, this new version of Flashback features upgraded controls, music, and visuals while retaining the main concepts of the original game.
I found the original Flashback to be a fun but difficult title that really required some tactics to navigate the environment as well as taking out foes. The new version looks to offer players the core experience from the original, while taking advantage of modern features that we're used to having today. Give it a download!

8/20/13 10:00AM | A few big titles have now been released, including Sunday's Disney Infinity, as well as today's games with Saints Row IV and Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Reviews for these titles have been fairly positive, and Skylander fans may even want to check out what Disney has to offer with their great figures and the Toy Box mode for Infinity.
Another great title coming out tomorrow is the HD remake of the classic Flashback title, which I loved and played on the SNES and Genesis back in the day.
I plan on picking up Saints Row IV today, so look out for my review in the future!

The next game for the Summer of Arcade is also the next new game from Ska Studios, creators of the Dishwasher series, and the popular indie title 'I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES 1N IT!!!1'.
Charlie Murder is an co-op beat-em-up game where you can control members of a band as they progress through the levels fighting, with some musical mini-games thrown into the mix. As with all of the Ska Studios games, it looks to be another fun one worth checking out!

The 2013 Summer of Arcade releases are finally starting to come out, and the first title for the yearly promotion is Brothers: A Tale of two Sons. Developed by the Chronicles of Riddick developers, Starbreeze Studios, this game has players controlling two brothers as they traverse the environment fighting creatures and solving puzzles throughout their adventures.
The real kicker here is that both brothers are controlled at the same time using the analog sticks, so the game is essentially a single-player co-op title. Be sure to play the trial of this new and interesting game!
The full version of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons will cost 1200 MSP ($15).

The upcoming remake Flashback will be apart of the 2013 Summer of Arcade promotion and will be offering players the ability to play the original version of the game. The original was released in the 90's on both SEGA and Nintendo platforms and the newly updated version will bring the game to new and returning players with updated visuals and controls.
Flashback of one of my all time favorites, and I can't wait to play it again with HD visuals. Look out for it on August 21st for $10!

Summer is usually slow for retail titles as most employees are taking well-deserved breaks, but like every year, you'll be able to enjoy some really good arcade games. Starting a little later in the summer, this year's line-up includes TMNT: Out of the Shadows, Flashback, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, and Charlie Murder.
You'll be able to check out these games starting on August 7th.
