On March 18th, 2014, PlayStation 3 owners will be able to pick up the HD Collection of Final Fantasy X and X-2 for $39.99. Both games will also be arriving for Vita next year as well, although a date has yet to be given regarding its availability.

When it does become available for purchase on Vita, the games will be available separately on PSN instead of bundled like the PS3 version.

I've been looking forward to this collection for quite some time, and am glad that the official dates are starting to be revealed. Final Fantasy X remains among my favorite games on PS2 as well as favorite RPG of all time.

Announced and launching in Japan on November 14th, the PS Vita TV is a device that allow you to stream video content, as well as the ability to play Vita games on the big screen with a Dualshock 3 controller. PS Vita TV has a Vita memory card slot for games, and will play most that do not require any touchscreen capabilities. It can also play over 600 PS1 and PSP games while using a PS3 controller.

Another neat feature about the product is that it can stream PS4 content via its remote play options, which is shown below in the video.

PS Vita TV will arrive in Japan for 9,954 yen, which amounts to about $100 in US currency.

This device seems neat, but I wonder if it will improve Vita software while hurting Vita hardware sales in the process. It'll be interesting to see how it does and whether it makes its way to other countries in the future.

The PlayStation Vita will be getting the indie hit game Limbo on June 4th in North America for $14.99, and a day later for those in the U.K. and Europe.

The game was first released as an exclusive XBLA title during the 2011 Summer of Arcade, and later made it's way to PC, PS3, and now Vita.

It's a great game which I highly recommend, but there won't be any unique features for this version since the developers have already confirmed that the game won't utilize any of the touch screen capabilities of the handheld.

It pulled players' heart strings, and forced you to make tough choices, and now it's coming to the PlayStation Vita this year.

The Walking Dead game from Telltale has been a critical and commercial success ever since it launched last year in five parts, and now the adventure title will be making it's way to Sony's Handheld. Not much is known yet about the Vita version, but I would expect the game to utilize the touch features of the Vita in a similar fashion to how it played on the iPad version of the game.

Look out for more details soon on this new version of the game!

If you've been waiting to play PSone games on your Vita, the wait is now over. The following games can be directly purchased from the Vita in the US:

Arc the Lad
Cool Boarders 2
Final Fantasy VII
Hot Shots Golf 2
Jet Moto
Syphon Filter
Tomb Raider
Twisted Metal 2
Wild Arms

Europe has a much larger list, but users on Neogaf have been able to transfer a large section of the PSone titles if copied from a PS3 in the US including Final Fantasy VIII, IX, and V, Castlevania Sotn, Silent Hill, and Resident Evil 2. There are many more though. Click here to see the full list. Transferring is great if you have access to a PS3, but the fact that you can't easily download directly from a Vita is a bummer. Let's hope Sony adds more games to the list and does so in a timely manner.

Portable 'Charting

Uncharted Golden Abyss is a prequel to the original Uncharted game on PS3, and utilizes most of the features that the Vita is capable of. You’ll touch the screen, rotate the Vita, use the rear touch, and even play around with the camera features. With a great story, impressive visuals on the Vita’s OLED screen, and Nolan North reprising his role as the popular adventurer, this launch title is still the Vita game to beat.

The main feature of the Vita that you’ll utilize often is of course the touch ability. Swipes and taps can turn into punches and grenade throwing, and tilting of the Vita is used when you need to balance Drake on logs and other unstable areas. You can even use swipes to have Drake automatically traverse certain areas of the environment, or stick with the traditional analog sticks and buttons.

Motion control can be used to aim weapons, although I found this to be difficult in certain areas and decided to simply turn that option off.

There are about 34 chapters in the game, and it took me about 6-7 hours to complete on the first play through. The game’s mechanics don’t differ too much from the PS3 games, and it’s a great way to showcase the features of the Vita. The visuals are colorful and vibrant, and it really wowed me every time I traversed the environment as Drake.

Golden Abyss also supports the Near feature of the Vita, so if you have others nearby, you can trade collected treasures from the game’s menu.

While we still await more Vita games to play, Uncharted Golden Abyss is one that has been on the Vita since its release, and one of the only games I would recommend at full price. It’s production values is top notch and it really impresses in the visual and touch capabilities. I hope in the future that they make more Uncharted games for Vita!

"Uncover the dark secret behind the 400-year-old massacre of a Spanish expedition as Nathan Drake follows the murderous trail of an ancient and secret Spanish sect. Caught in the middle of a rivalry between Jason Dante—his old friend—and Marisa Chase—the granddaughter of an archeologist who has mysteriously vanished without a trace—Nathan Drake races into the treacherous river basins, undiscovered temple ruins and karst caverns of Central America in search of a legendary lost city, only to find himself pushed to the edge of the Golden Abyss."

Square Enix has announced that PS2 classic Final Fantasy X will be making it's way to the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3. The re-release will feature the same game as before with an HD visual upgrade.

While Final Fantasy VII may never be remade, Final Fantasy X is still worth replaying, so I guess we'll have to wait and see how it plays when it releases sometime next year.
