Today marks the release of the PlayStation Now streaming subscription, which allows you to either pay $19.99 per month or $44.99 for three months for access to a library of over 100 PS3 titles. Sony is promising that new titles will be added every month, and that PS2 and PS1 titles are still being considered, which would allow PS4, PS TV, Vita, and Sony TV owners access to a wide array of classic PlayStation titles.
I've used this service a few times to rent individual titles, and as long as you're connection is stable, it works quite well.
If you're on PS4, don't forget the download the free theme for PS Now, which will enter you into a giveaway to receive a year of the PlayStation Now subscription service.

Activision presented Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's multiplayer earlier today, which revealed some new gameplay mechanics and details regarding the confirmed modes when the game launches in November.
Set to arrive on 360, XB1, PS4, PS3, and PC, Advanced Warfare will take the exoskeleton suit from the game's campaign and fully incorporate its abilities into the game's multiplayer, which promises to create a fast-paced new way to play the popular mode.
Below is a brief video of the newly announced multiplayer features, and the full reveal will soon be available to re-watch, which contains more in-depth details on the new features.
One more neat feature that pre-ordering the game will bring is the ability to play a day early. Customers who pre-order the Day Zero edition will be able to pick up the title on November 3rd for their preferred console.
Advanced Warfare is shaping to be another big blockbuster hit, and will no doubt continue the success of the Call of Duty franchise.

Capcom has announced that the first entry in their acclaimed action-horror series will be getting an HD release for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PS3 and 360. Resident Evil was remade a few years ago for the Gamecube, and this version which is due out in 2015, looks to follow the trend by offering the original gameplay with a nice visual overhaul.
While the last game in the series, Resident Evil 6, sold fairly well, it was stated to be a critical disappoint by fans and reviewers due to it's lack of horror and emphasis on shooting action.
The classic RE titles are always considered to be among the best in the genre, so if this remake does well maybe we'll get a new title that will take the best from the past games to create a new Next-Gen experience.

On March 18th, 2014, PlayStation 3 owners will be able to pick up the HD Collection of Final Fantasy X and X-2 for $39.99. Both games will also be arriving for Vita next year as well, although a date has yet to be given regarding its availability.
When it does become available for purchase on Vita, the games will be available separately on PSN instead of bundled like the PS3 version.
I've been looking forward to this collection for quite some time, and am glad that the official dates are starting to be revealed. Final Fantasy X remains among my favorite games on PS2 as well as favorite RPG of all time.

The Last of Us becomes a big critical hit, currently sold over 3.4 million units

Sony and Naughty Dog have announced that The Last of Us has sold over 3.4 million copies since it's release last month. The game has received critical acclaim from almost every major publication, and is sure to be a worthy contender for the 2013 game of the year. I've gotten to play a bit of it myself at a friend's house, and it is definitely worth owning if you have a PS3.
This accomplishment is even more incredible when you consider that The Last of US is a new IP that launched right before the new consoles are set to arrive later this year. When Naughty Dog does create a game for PS4, whatever it may be will surely be worth checking out.

Diablo III arrives on PS3 this September, alongside the newly announced 360 version

6/6/13 11:00AM |
Blizzard has announced that alongside a PS3 and PS4 version of Diablo III, the Xbox 360 players will be able to get in on the action when the game is released on September 3rd. This would obviously mean that development on the 360 version probably started when it did for PS3, although it would be a bit odd to reveal that during Sony's Reveal event for the PS4.
Aside from not requiring a constant internet connection to play, these new versions of the game will include the updates from the PC version, as well as a unique item that will be added as the game's pre-order incentive.

Gran Turismo 6 officially by Polyphony Digital, coming this holiday for PS3
Wednesday, May 15, 2013

Gran Turismo 6 has been rumored to be released as a PS4 title for quite some time, but today Sony and Polyphony Digital have put that rumor to rest with the announcement that the game will be available later this year, but for the PlayStation 3.
Sony stated in their press release for the title that Gran Turismo 6 will boast 1,200 vehicles, including every vehicle that was available to drive in Gran Turismo 5. Every track from Gran Turismo 5 will also appear, along with tracks in seven new locations.
This is a pretty interesting move because Sony shows that they will continue to support the PlayStation 3 with exlcusive titles depsite have their new console available toward to the end of this year. With no confirmation regarding backwards compability for the PS4, the announcement gives players another reason to hold onto their PS3.
Check out the announcement trailer for Gran Turismo 6 below!

Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes has formed into Metal Gear Solid 5, Will be coming to 360 and PS3!
Wednesday, March 27, 2013

If you watched the VGA's last December, one of the games that had a reveal was a mysterious title called The Phantom Pain. It was said to be developed by Moby Dick Studios, and many thought it was some sort of teaser to a new Metal Gear Solid game. Then later, MGS: Ground Zeroes was shown, and speculation ran that is was essentially MGG 5. Well today Hideo Kojima has confirmed that these two reveals together make a new game: Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
This new game in the popular franchise will feature open-world elements and is slated to release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, meaning the game could be available sometime this year either before or after new consoles have been released.
This is all great news, but it has been rumored that David Hayter, the long-running voice actor for Solid Snake, may not be reprising his role as the classic hero which would be a bummer. I hope it's not true! The beginning of the game is said to be a made in a linear structure and act as the tutorial mode since Solid Snake is awaking from a coma.
Check out the gameplay video below, which is running on the new Fox Engine that will power future Kojima games!

Sony officially confirmed that there will be a new version of the PlayStation 3 slim, which was detailed during their conference at the Tokyo Game Show. This new version of the console is about 25% slimmer than the current slim version, with options available for a 250 or 500 GB. The new slim console will be available in either black or white, and will be released in the US on September 25th, with the Japanese version out on October 4th for the black console, and November 22nd for the white console.
There will also be a few bundles available for the system, one with either Uncharted 3: Game of the Year edition, and Assassin's Creed III. I'm not sure if this is to make buyers reconsider getting a Wii U, but it'll be interesting to see if Microsoft follows suit or how this may affect sales of Nintendo's upcoming console.

Pax-goers were able to check out new footage of Naughty Dog's upcoming game The Last of Us, and today have released the video for everyone to see. If you watched the E3 video, you'll see familiar footage, but there is also some new bits rolled in, as well showing off some stealthily gameplay.
The Last of US is set to arrive in 2013 exclusively for PlayStation 3.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale has been officially announced! It's essentially Super Smash Bros. for PS3. Current roster includes Kratos, Parappa the Rappa, Sly Cooper, Fat princess, Sweet Tooth and a character from Killzone. It's coming out this year, and if you want more details, check out the latest episode of GameTrailers TV!
Square Enix has announced that PS2 classic Final Fantasy X will be making it's way to the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3. The re-release will feature the same game as before with an HD visual upgrade.
While Final Fantasy VII may never be remade, Final Fantasy X is still worth replaying, so I guess we'll have to wait and see how it plays when it releases sometime next year.

One of Bioware's greatest games so far will be making it's way to PS3 in 2011. Announced at Gamescom 2010, Bioware stated that the PS3 version will include everything that was in the Xbox 360 version, as well as some new goodies. Mass Effect 2 released to critical acclaim in January of this year, and now PS3 owners can see what all the fuss was about in 2011.
Hulu will be coming to Xbox LIVE Hulu Plus next year, and next Month for PlayStation 3. Plus is a ad-supported subscription based service that will deliver all the great content from Hulu to your Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. No word on why it will take longer for the Xbox 360 to receive it, but the possibility of it using Kinect would be really cool.
