Microsoft and Epic Games has announced that Gears of War 3 is the fasted pre-ordered title for the Xbox 360 with one million worldwide pre-orders. The actual beta ended this week, but logged in over 1.29 million players during it's 4 week run. Looks like the full release on September 20th will be a highly successful one for Epic & Microsoft!
Complied over on Major Nelson's blog, here are some of the other interesting stats:
- 145 different countries participated in the beta
- 249 years worth of matches played
- More than 11 million matches completed
- More than 927 million kills recorded
- More than 131 million executions performed
- More than 23 million deaths by chainsaw
- Nearly 23 BILLION bullets fired
- 4.9 billion ribbons and 291M medals earned
- 435K people earned the Beta exclusive Thrashball Cole skin to use in the retail game when it launches in September
- 234K people earned the Beta exclusive Gold Retro Lancer to use in the retail game when it launches in September

Play Carmines favorite game!
Available today is a new playlist for the Gears of War 3 Beta. Torque Bow Tag is team death match where all the weapons on the map have been replaced with Torque Bows to wield. You'll still start out with your usual loadout, but may want to grab the closest Torque Bow you can find.

Awarding those who purchased the Epic Edition of Bulletstorm, the Gears of War 3 Beta is now available for those with this version of the game. This one week early access will include Team Deathmatch on a few of the Beta maps, and more playlists will be available next when those that pre-ordered Gears of War 3 can play.
