For a limited time only, GTA Online players will be able to unlock some Fourth of July themed content, as announced today on Rockstar's Newswire feed. The content is currently available now as an automatic update, which will begin as soon as Grand Theft Auto 5 is started. It includes new properties to own, several new vehicles, and two Independence Day-themed weapons.
From Rockstar:
"Demonstrate your exceptionalism and own the road from sea to shining sea with two new star spangled rides, the Sovereign motorcycle and the super-sized Liberator monster truck. And protect your rights the same way our Founding Fathers did with the latest addition to Ammu-Nation's antiques collection, the high-powered Musket... or channel your inner Jack Howitzer with the spectacular Firework Rocket Launcher.

Seven new properties have also been added to the Dynasty 8 rolls, including locations in Paleto Bay and Vinewood Hills that provide plenty of yard space to scorch the grass with your very own Fireworks show. Use up to 12 varieties with different fuse lengths to create a spectacle that would make even the most battle-hardened Republican Space Ranger shed a tear. If you prefer rickety amusements operated by minimum wage teenage workers over incendiary lawn displays, then venture down to Pleasure Pier where you can now ride the Ferris Whale and the Leviathan Roller Coaster.

This limited-time update also features an overabundance of patriotic flare: show off nationalistic pride with a "Made in the U.S.A." t-shirt, a backwoods mullet or let the eagle soar with an animal mask featuring this great nation's most fearsome and majestic creatures."
Be sure to check out the content before it's gone!

Rockstar gives new update on upcoming GTA Online content, Stimulus package still coming after more issues have been addressed

Those holding out for the $500,000 coming to GTA Online will be waiting a bit longer, Rockstar Games has announced. The main reasoning for the delay is that the developers want to ensure that the remaining issues in GTA Online are remedied so the money won't disappear from player accounts when it gets deposited.
A new patch will be coming next week to help, and then the money will given to players.
Rockstar also laid out their plans for release when it comes to the Beach Bum pack and the Content Creator. These new pieces of content will be arriving later next month, alongside Social Club events, and in-game crate drops, which will contain some extra goodies for players.
Aside from this new content, Rockstar will be adding new Survival, Races, Last Man Standing and Deathmatches down the line as well.
The initial Content Creator features will include the ability to create deathmatches and race events, but will eventually have support for creating your very own missions. Rockstar will be able to monitor creations, and even highlight the best ones for every player to check out.
GTA Online's first month was rocky at the start, but soon it will be improving greatly so everyone can have a fun time with it.
