Batman: Return to Arkham is a collection of the first two Rocksteady developed Arkham titles Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Featuring all of the previously released DLC for those titles, Return to Arkham will also feature visual upgrades for both games when it’s released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Batman: Return to Arkham will retail at $49.99 and will arrive on July 26th.
There are already a few threads online discussing the visual differences between the previous gen version upcoming release, which are shown off in the trailer below.

Originally announced for a Europe, Asia, and Australia release, Eidos and RockSteady has announced that the Game of the Year Edition of Batman Arkham Asylum will be coming to The U.S as well. The GOTY edition will feature more challenge levels as well as being in 3-D which is pretty neat. This was my Game of the year for 2009 as well as being a critical hit to Batman and Non-Batman fans alike. Look out for it this May.
As promised, Rocksteady has delivered the first piece of downloadable content for Batman Arkham Asylum. This FREE pack is available for the PS3 and Xbox 360 Version:

The first free content for Batman Arkham Asylum will release this Thursday and PC players don't forget that Batman launches tomorrow!
The Totally Insane Free Flow Combat map will consist of Batman taking on waves of inmates as they attempt to escape and the Nocturnal Predator Stealth map will have players using stealth to take out an army of Joker's Goons.

Batman Arkham Asylum has enjoyed tremendous success in a short amount of time. Across the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 version, the game has sold over 2 million copies. The Games for Windows Live Version is about to be released and can only increase that number. Congrats to Rocksteady and Eidos!
Batman Arkham Asylum has so many great elements from the best video-games and puts them into a form that is perfectly suited for Batman game.
The game begins with Batman driving to Arkham Asylum with the Joker in his custody, and once he arrives to check him in, he realizes the Joker wanted to be caught and then the Clown Prince of Crime begins his plan to take over the Asylum. From the start, it is Batman's goal to stop the Joker and the rest of the super villain inmates while utilizing his gadgets to accomplish this.
The gameplay consists of exploring the massive Asylum, completing missions to further your goal of reaching the joker, silently taking out enemies from time to time, and engaging in fun and fluid combat scenarios when the enemies begin to surround the Dark Knight. The game does a great job of mixing up the gameplay which in turn makes for a less repetitive and more enjoyable game.
The game also has a metroid feel to it, with many areas in the game inaccessible until you acquire the right gadgets to reach them. Most of Batman's greatest gadgets, including the always useful Batarang, all make an appearance and can be used in many fun ways.
There are also times when you must silently take out armed enemies in certain parts of the game and these events make you truly feel like Batman. The game also has a fun challenge mode that includes combat and predator scenarios so you can rack up points and practice your combat skills while having all while having your score posted to the leaderboards and checking out where you rank against the other Arkham Asylum players around the world.
The games' presentation is top notch as well, with the unreal engine showing the world of batman in an amazing way, and the amazing voice cast that includes Batman alumni Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, who both make Batman Arkham Asylum a very special treat to the fans. Gadgets sound the way you would expect, and the sounds of punches and gliding add to the very immersive world. This is a game that even those that dislike Batman should definitely play.
The game also has a Bioshock feel to it, with tons of interview tapes scattered around the world that help get a sense of the game's villains, and tons of Riddler trophies and Riddles to solve that help round out the investigative gameplay. Batman is truly a detective in this game, something that other batman games never really embraced.
The achievements/trophies in this game are also pretty cool as well, with many being unlocked by defeating bosses and progressing through the game, and others focusing on the game's challenge modes. Beating the game twice netted me about 600+ gamerscore, but I was missing most of the Riddler associated achievements, since there are tons to find.
Overall, this is a must play and a sure candidate for the various 2009 Game of the year awards.

- A few annoying enemy moments, but nothing Major
- Not a negative, but wish there was some kind of unique multiplayer

The Batman: Arkham Asylum demo actually arrived on the PlayStation Network yesterday, but now it is available on the Xbox 360 to check out. This game looks like a lot of fun, so play the demo if you get a chance:

Batman: Arkham Asylum looks to be not only a great game, but probably the greatest Batman game ever made. The videos and screen shots are very impressive so far, and a few GameStop Kiosk had a small demo for players to check out. Well now everyone will get a chance, as a demo for the game will be released on PS3 and Xbox 360 on August 7th.
* Super villains: Confront Gotham's most notorious lunatics, including The Joker, Harley Quinn, Bane, Poison Ivy, and Killer Croc.
* Batman's arsenal: Utilize Batman's detective skills and cutting-edge forensic tech to gather evidence and clues.
* Silent killer: Move in the shadows and strike fear amongst your enemies.
* Melee combat: Unleash brutal combos with the innovative FreeFlow combat system.
Gameplay was shown at GDC and this video features some gameplay from the game's challenge mode in which Batman must stealthy take down foes. Will this Batman game be good? So far it looks pretty impressive so hopefully there will be a demo to check out before the game comes out.
