Valve's final announcement for the week is the Steam controller, a unique gamepad that is equipped to play a wide variety of games while utilizing track-pad and touchscreen technology. The controller can also play PC games that were not made for gamepad support, making it compatible with just about every game available for purchase on Steam.

The beta for the Steam machine will included wired versions of the controller and will be hackable, so users can freely modify the settings to their liking.

Below is an example of settings for Portal 2 on Steam and how it would play on the controller.

The controller looks a bit odd from what we're used to, but those who get into the beta will hopefully share their impressions on whether or not it works a great way to play games on Steam.
