The animatronic phenomenon continues today with the release of Five Nights at Freddy's 3. Currently only available for PC via Steam for $7.99, FNAF 3 takes place 30 years after the events of the first two games and features new gameplay mechanics to reflect the change of observing one animatronic this time around.

Watching only one of these guys doesn't sound too bad, but I'm sure the game will still be full of tense moments and jumpscares!

"Thirty years after Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closed it's doors, the events that took place there have become nothing more than a rumor and a childhood memory, but the owners of "Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction" are determined to revive the legend and make the experience as authentic as possible for patrons, going to great lengths to find anything that might have survived decades of neglect and ruin.

At first there were only empty shells, a hand, a hook, an old paper-plate doll, but then a remarkable discovery was made...

The attraction now has one animatronic."

Developed by Psyonix Studios, Nosgoth is an upcoming F2P competitive multiplayer game set in the Legacy of Kain universe, and will be arriving next Wednesday in Open-Beta form, as announced by the game's publishers, Square Enix.

The third-person action title splits players into two groups of human and vampire teams, with a wide array of unique feature for each faction. The open beta will be available for Windows PC through Steam when it arrives on January 21st.

I've got a friend that is apart of the Psyonix team based in California, so be sure to support him and everyone at the studio by checking out the beta and providing feedback on it!

Fenix Rage is a 2D-platformer in the vein of Super Meat Boy, although it has some unique features that help differentiate itself from that tough title. While still a challenging game in itself, Fenix Rage is accompanied by some tight yet simple controls (The game urges to you use a controller) and fun gameplay that help ease the frustration that the later levels in the game can bring.

For your $15, you'll be receiving a game with hundreds of levels with new elements being introduced to the main platforming mechanic as you progress through the worlds as you attempt to make it through each stage in a reasonable time – all while picking up those elusive chocolate chip cookies.

The plot of Fenix Rage isn't the primary attraction, but there is a story to be had. The basic premise is that Fenix is an alien creature seeking out a shadowy figure named Oktarus whose presence is a cause for suspicion after Fenix's village is destroyed. To get to him, you'll have to get by the multiple stages that are comprised of the game's world, each with a different theme and flow.

As you progress, you'll find yourself dying more and more, but this is to be expected – Fenix Rage is all about trial and error. Frustration can appear sometimes, so what I would myself is take a break from a specific level after failing over and over again, and coming back after a break and taking on the level after stepping away.

Fenix is a pretty fast character, and you're able to quickly move through the level, thanks to the infinite dashing and jumping possible. Sometimes there will be levels that require you to stay in mid-air as you avoid obstacles, but you'll also encounter times where slowing down will be the way to go as well.

There's a nice flow to the game in this sense, as you're not playing the same level over and over again with a different enemy layout, which is surprise given that the game has over 200 levels to check out and more coming down the line in the form of DLC.

Visually, Fenix Rage is a nice looking title with colorful sprites. Fenix himself sports brown and blue as his primary colors, but there are some environments in the game where I found it difficult to spot where I was, which caused a few deaths towards the end of a level. Most times my death meant I made a wrong move or tried to go through too fast, but there were also times where I forget where I was as Fenix blended into the environment and got hit by an enemy before I could find him again.

This doesn't happen too frequently however, and it might have just been more on myself not seeing where the little guy went since I'm the one in control of him to begin with.

The soundtrack is pretty cool as well, with electric/rock beats that also feel very 8-bit at times as well, at least to my ears.

Overall, Fenix Rage is a fun, fast, sometimes frustrating title, but very rewarding when you conquer those tougher levels. If you game on PC, be sure to check it out, or countdown to its release for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 when it arrives next year for those consoles.

+ Fun and fast challenging gameplay
+ Tons of levels to play and worlds to explore that introduce small changes to the game

Here's a game that you'll enjoy playing with the Xbox One controller on PC!

Originally launched last year as an Xbox One exclusive, Dead Rising 3 will be making its way to PC via Steam, Capcom have announced. While the original release received mixed reviews, the game sold fairly well and enjoyed by many fans who picked up or downloaded the title which arrived as an Xbox One launch title.

The PC version will have all of the features of the XB1 version including co-op play, as well as support for keyboard and mouse along with game controller.

No official date has been set at the moment, but summer is just about here, so look out for it on PC soon!

The first downloadable content for State of Decay will be arriving on Friday, November 29th and will available to both Steam and Xbox 360 users for $6.99, Undead Labs have announced.

State of Decay: Breakdown focuses on the major survival aspect of State of Decay by allowing players to leave town and arrive in a harder version of the map with more difficult hordes to withstand, new weapons and items to find and use, new playable survivors to access, as well as new achievements unlock.

Breakdown will also be arriving with the latest title update, which will bring new fixes and the ability to remap functions on the keyboard for Steam users. I've put in over 50 hours on the Xbox 360 version of the game, and can't wait to add to that tally with the new features that Breakdown includes. Be sure to check it out!

The XBLA best selling original title will be heading to Steam later this year, but if you want to check it out much sooner, State of Decay will be available on Steam for $20 tomorrow.

This early access version of the game will require an Xbox 360 or similar USB controller to use, as Undead Labs continues to tweak the game for keyboard use.

If you buy the game tomorrow, you'll receive updates to the game, as well as the official PC version at no extra charge. This is similar to what was done with Minecraft on PC as well, which allowed players to give feedback on the game and a chance to play it early.

From Undead Labs:

"What you’ll see this Friday, if you choose to join forces with us to make the PC version kick ass, is a test version. It’s not ready to be reviewed. It will not be perfect. It may still have crashes. What it won’t have is a keyboard and mouse interface…not at first. Why not? Over the next however many weeks, we will be putting up versions of the keyboard interface and using your comments and feedback to make it awesome. Right this minute, the Early Access version requires an Xbox 360 controller (or a compatible 3rd-party controller, although we haven’t done much testing with those yet)."

State of Decay is among my top games this year, and I'm sure it will continue to be awesome on PC!

A feature first in discussion for Xbox One will now be making its way to PC, as Valve has announced a Steam Family Sharing plan for users who share computers with others in their household.

Close friends and family members can play games that are purchased by users on the same PC and will be able to unlock their own set of achievements while separating save files and access to the Cloud. The plan begins next week as a beta before it becomes available to every Steam user in the future.

Valve just keeps giving us a reason to play on PC!

Space & Strategy

Gemini Wars is an real-time strategy game that focuses on the conflicts created when future societies take to space to create new foundations. Everyone working together happily wouldn't make a compelling game to play, so of course the future military groups found themselves in battle with one another.

The game takes place across systems in space and contain plenty of tutorial elements to aid you in battle. To be successful, you'll have to take into account the condition of your ships, as well as the parts and type of ships you wish to utilize.

Resource gathering is always important in RTS games, and Gemini Wars is no different. You'll sometimes gain resources from allies utilizing hyper-drive to get to you, or manually gathering and searching areas yourself.

Combat in the game is pretty neat. The ships and other elements are pretty small though, so you'll need to zoom in a bit more than other titles. Aside from building up areas to aid you in battle, you'll also be given various tasks like protecting convoys and destroying specific items.

The presentation is decent for the price, although the character models we're a bit off for me. Sound in the game is well done, with plenty of effects that feel sci-fi while still being original.

I don't play these types of games too often, and for a small budget title, Gemini Wars is worth taking a look at, although I wish there were more configuration options available.

"Decades have passed since war erupted between the United Space Federation and the Alliance of Free Worlds. A bloody conflict that seemed to have reached a stalemate is now about to change, when a third faction suddenly appears. Take control of a fleet commander returned from exile, rise through the ranks of the United Space Federation forces and join an epic war across the stars."

Valve's plan to bring into the living room starts today with the Steam Big Picture beta available to all steam users. The main goal is to optimize how you play and view steam content by rearranging content to create a visually appealing interface that supports a controller. You'll also be able to use a web browser, view steam friends, and purchase and play new steam content given your pc can connect to a monitor or tv. Below are examples of the interface, and they look pretty slick!
